We have four children ages 9 to 18. During this last year we have had an epiphany in our household. We are pro investments. This may sound strange. But we were led to believe that the Stock Market was gambling and gambling was a sin. We stayed away from investments. Oh, we could be very well off by now... STOP! Don't look backwards. Be proactive, I am talking to myself.
It was a thorough study of classical Christianity that taught us how important economics is and investment is essential. We decided to make sure that our children don't repeat our mistakes. So, we revamped our curriculum, in a day, (Homeschooling is so efficient :)) We have made economics number 3 (first Bible, second music) in our curriculum. Wow, it is so much fun. Our children are learning how to invest their time, how to make money (commodity or service), how to invest their money, learn new skills and apply what they know, how to be thrifty,.... In short, they are becoming investors!
Their is a big difference between investing and gambling. I hope Christians understand this; ashamed to admit we didn't.
